Anniversary Coliseum: Find the Balcony Key and Upper Route
Use the arena, gladiator cages and balcony route to progress through Anniversary’s Coliseum.
Enter above the ruined approach
The apparent front entrance is broken. Use the sloping stone, columns and handholds to work around the rubble, then follow the pool-and-cage approach toward the arena.
Open the upper route
The Balcony Key is the central progression item. Explore the gladiator-cage route rather than repeatedly returning to the locked balcony gate empty-handed. When new animals enter the arena, take space to fight or climb to a safer position before continuing the upper traversal.
Return to the balcony using the established climbing route. The later path involves the roof and grappling rings; align the camera and let each swing establish its direction before releasing.
Keep optional equipment separate
The 50-caliber pistols and the artifact add side objectives around the upper route. They do not replace the Balcony Key. The extra cog mentioned in some walkthroughs belongs to the Wii version.
This page covers the progression landmarks. Consult the illustrated reference when matching a particular balcony handhold or optional pickup.
