Anniversary Tihocan: Cistern Route and Centaur Preparation

Navigate the cistern in stages

The level begins through the pool beneath Midas’s statue room. Follow the underwater passage into the cistern, then work between its lower, middle and upper routes. A water-level change can make a previously unreachable ledge accessible.

Before leaving a tier, identify the ladder or handhold that returns you to it. Repeatedly jumping at a ledge from the wrong water level is not a timing problem.

Follow the aqueduct to the tomb

The long aqueduct leads onward to Tihocan’s chamber. Obtaining the Scion triggers an encounter with Pierre and an interactive sequence; watch the current on-screen controller prompts.

Prepare for the centaurs

The centaur fight relies on the game’s targeting and adrenaline-dodge mechanics. Review those controls before the encounter instead of treating it as a simple ammunition test. The linked walkthrough provides the shield-specific sequence and illustrated alternatives.

Keep the pre-encounter save. Historical shield or dodge glitches are documented with platform-specific workarounds; do not apply a PC keyboard fix to the PS3 version.
