Underworld Croft Manor: Chapel Puzzle and Secret Study

Two manor visits, different objectives

The opening No Illusions sequence and the later Protected by the Dead chapter are not interchangeable routes. If the manor is burning, follow the prologue’s escape. The chapel puzzle belongs to the later return.

Explore the chapel vertically

Enter the chapel and use its floor and upper-level routes to reach the mechanisms. The stone-angel dais and the stained-glass room are landmarks for the puzzle. Solve the mechanism before attempting the timed run to the exit; running faster cannot compensate for starting from an incomplete puzzle state.

Once the doorway opens, commit to the route rather than stopping for an optional pickup halfway through the timer.

Finish the study encounter

In Richard Croft’s secret study, watch the broken floor while fighting the tiger thralls. Gunfire can knock a thrall down without permanently finishing it. Approach a subdued body and use Interact to destroy its bones before it rises again.

The chapter contains optional relic and treasure routes. Keep a save before a timed attempt so that choosing a detour does not cost the entire puzzle sequence.
