Legend Japan: Rooftop Route and Takamoto Fight
Reach the elevated walkway and read Takamoto’s attacks during Legend’s Japan level without fighting beneath the gun turrets.
Reach the right fighting level
Japan begins at Nishimura’s party. Speak to the bartender to progress toward the meeting, then follow the rooftop and construction route. The final fight is not meant to be fought from the floor beneath the automated turrets.
When the battle starts, move behind a large statue. Climb the pole behind it and jump onto the walkway around the room. The turrets cannot hit Lara there, although Takamoto remains dangerous.
Read the energy attacks
Keep a target lock and move around the walkway with weapons drawn. Jump over the low, spreading blasts and roll beneath the high ones. Statues can interrupt his line of fire, but stand directly behind the cover rather than exposing Lara at its edge.
At close range, watch for sword strikes and vertical beams. Dodge sideways and keep outside the blade’s reach. A closer approach can shorten the fight, but a cautious ranged approach is also described in the reference guide.
Avoid a needless fall
The circular walkway is narrow enough that repeated uncontrolled jumps can be more dangerous than a single missed shot. Reposition the camera before committing to the next dodge. Your goal is surviving the pattern, not chasing him at every opportunity.
